Jean
Jansen has been painting watercolors since 1997. She took
up painting after she retired from teaching. Jean has a Bachelor's
degree from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s
degree from the University of Louisville. After teaching for
over 20 years in public and private schools in the Louisville
area, she decided to enjoy her retirement and began painting.
She serves as President of the Kentucky Watercolor Society
(2008) and has been the Director for the KWS largest show,
Aqueous USA for the two previous years. Jean also teaches
watercolor classes for KWS.
Jean loves painting flowers and animals. Her Pet Portraits
have delighted many people from California to Florida. She
has painted on consignment homes and pets for other people.
She enjoys painting with a lot of color and primarily paints
in the realistic form. Her wet in wet technique leads to a
realistic result of brilliant color and display.
